their own school district
Not really. They want an independent school. If the school gets accredited and if they chose to they can join other independents in a district. They are trying to get out from underneath the yoke of the diocese who just wants to pull the plug. At that point they would be truly a "private" school. They could operate as a for profit institution. Hell today there are independent schools popping up everywhere. if the alumni are big enough ballers go for it. I wonder if the name would have to be changed.

The diocese been wanting the school gone since the late 80's.
Verges hates RHS and always has, and all the neglect from her is coming to light.

Well they sure as shite have a lot of work to do. Like academic overhaul, location change, etc.
People in other parts of BR aren't sending their kids to RHS over St. Joseph's, Catholic, St. Michaels, etc.
RHS's main supply of students when it was successful came from Zachary and Central.. who both now have thriving public school districts. These people no longer need to ship their children to Plank Rd. for a lesser education for thousands of dollars a year. I don't know who these bleeding hearts think are going to fill up the school. Are they all raising elementary kids who they plan on putting in RHS or something? Enrollment trends say otherwise.

Where were all these outspoken RHS Alumni in the years leading up to this?
Exactly. Where did they send their kids?
Most of the outspoken people I've seen so far are too young to have kids.. or too old to matter because they don't have children and are just sad about their old HS.
