At some point, he's gonna feel like just a last resort option. I know he wants the best for the program, but he has also dreamed of this position and is just watching name after name surface in front of him.

The stance Brick needs to assume (and probably is) is that while he was not their "first" choice, he IS their "final" choice.

I always thought Chief had what was best for the program at the forefront of his mind too.
