not too crazy about rain
its not rain like here
its just mists/drizzles everyday in the fall/winter
its not the rain that gets to people, its the cloud cover

It rains more in Louisiana than Seattle. It's really overstated, but it's cloudy a lot.

Are you single?
Do you have kids?
How much more would you make? Because I'm betting COL is higher in Seattle than where you currently are.
If the answers are Yes, No, and a lot, then I don't see why you wouldn't do it. Big world outside Louisiana, might as well take the chance and live somewhere else while you're not tied down. Just one man's opinion.

Don't worry about the rain, it's a stiff dew in the Miles vernacular. Mainly mists/drizzles, Seattle gets less annual precipitation than much of the Southeast. The cloud cover is near constant in winter, but it's not nearly as bad as some believe.
If you like larger cities, Seattle is the best IMO particularly if you also like outdoor recreation.
