Joe Dumars should be known largely for 2 things-
-winning a championship in a professional sport that has seen only a limited number of franchises achieve this. Not to mention that they were a Rasheed Wallace brain fart from going back to back.
-Dumars is one of the most respected people in the nba. Players and coaches LOVE playing for him.
His time in Detroit had come and gone. He was growing stale, and some of his moves reeked of desperation. No one mentioned it yet in this thread, but he was also financially handicapped during the Pistons recent down period due to the death of Bill Davidson.
If in the right situation, he has proven that he can be a GREAT GM.

This is interesting. I was hoping you'd come in here to provide some insight.
As far as this board goes, Dumars had more success as a GM than George Karl did as a coach.
