Listening to the CEO or anyone at Microsoft would be foolish, they are obviously not going to say anything, if it were to happen it would just happen one day. It may leak out a few days before an official announcement or something, but MS wouldn't give any indication at all until a deal was pretty much done.

The move to Windows 10 makes it easier to sell off, not the other way around as RTR mentioned.

What some that don't keep up with PC may not know is that Windows 10 is the last major update to the Windows platform, there will not be a Windows 11 or Windows 12, etc, they are from now on just updating Windows 10, this was announced months ago with the Windows 10 announcement.

Nope. I think your statements say more about the paradigm shift that is occurring at Microsoft. They no longer want to be just the creator of operating systems. They want to develop an ecosystem across devices that they have a major hand in and ones that consumers have there hands on. Xbox, surface pro, windows phones, and more to come.

Xbox is especially important in this as it's an area of the market that doesn't have a major player from your other ecosystem competition.
