Completely understand that, and I've been guilty of it. Just still would like to enjoy dog running with my Dad (72). He built a camp on our property in 1973 and loves it about as much as anyone I know. Would like to hunt with him the way he likes for his remaining time, but everything must come to an end.
At least we won't have to feed so many dogs all year.

3-4 good beagles and you can hear a good race and not deal with the bs. If working dogs is what y'all enjoy.

I hunt with dogs every weekend if dog season between Oil City and Vivian. We switched from big dogs to beagles several years ago bc the beagles are easier to handle and catch. We kill as many deer now as we used to, but never hunt dogs all night to have enough for a race the next morning.

I know of guys that hunt Weyerhauser land that built a $15,000 dog pen a few years back and now will have no use for them. We have guys calling and begging to get into our club next year but we are full.

It's an awesome sport that most people will never understand.
