I would say over 80% of D1 FB teams have less talent than LSU on offense. AJ is surrounded by talent AND he was considered to be talented coming out of high school, as were many others that have come here in the last 10 years and not lived up to their recruiting rankings. Sure some of those will be busts but for LSU fans to think we are snake bit at the QB position is crazy. They aren't being developed or the coaches aren't utilizing their strengths.

With the running game we have and the way defenses stack the box there should be no reason LSU can't take a terrible QB and not make him look better than he really is. Teams are doing it all over the country with less talent.

Agreed. In fact, I think 80% is low. I think that number is higher.

This is part of coaching in college. Evaluating guys. At best, at this point, it can be said that our coaches whiffed on 3QBs and that's if you exclude Rivers by thinking he was simply brought in for depth.

I don't think we're snake bit in recruiting. Snake bit assumes it's an accident.

This is very possible. What may well be possible that no one wants to talk about is that this recruiting fail may be related to how QB recruits in general view Miles. We may well just not be drawing interest like we should. Recruiting really does go both ways. Sure, we haven't had a bunch of guys "reject" us but it isn't as if we'd offer a guy who told us out of the gates not to call him again. Let's be honest here. Anyone denying that at least SOME top QB recruits laugh out loud when LSU calls is to put one's head in the sand. I can tell you for certain that if my kid was a QB and Miles called, I'd hang up.

Which probably every decent QB in high school knows too. So, given that knowledge and then watching actual results, what do ya think such a HS kid thinks of LSU right now?

Right now, LSU is almost certainly viewed by QB recruits as a place that will get the minimum out of whatever talent they have.

we cannot go by the past 10 years when the thread is about a coach thats only been here two years ...

lets face it , magee and hilliard were role players , back ups at best ...
and we had a great rb in fournette but early on you could see he was adjusting to the collage game ...

at receiver we returned one player with experience ...
cam should not be held accountable for the years we didnt develop players or had bad offenses ....
