This is a big factor that lots of folks overlook -- it's sometimes less about the brand of motor and more about the skills of the mechanics.

Finding a good outboard mechanic is the key to motor reliability & longevity.

With that said, we get a lot better reliability out of Mercury motors on our work boats.

It's so much about an individuals experience. Not doubting this at all. I personally haven't seen a Mercury on a workboat in years except for one I bought that's a Yankee boat.

And let the pissing contest begin redneck......give us your experience......I am always curious about the love with bass fisherman for Mercury, I don't think they run them so much because they suck
