Trying to connect new Element tv to directv. It works fine with the other tv which is, like the new one, an HDTV.. When we connect the directv to the new tv it says searching for satellite signal.
TIA
TIA

Make sure you are on the right input.

It's the right input. We can watch stuff that's dvr'd just not anything that's on currently.

Nope. Simply unplugging the hdmi cable from one tv and right into the other.

Unplug the box for like 30 seconds. Force the box to reboot.

Did you read the directions for the tv? Like 6 moths ago Westinghouse had a TV the had to be "activated" by connecting it to their website or some bs. That TV wouldn't do anything until you did that.

definitely do a reset of the box. unplug it and wait a few and reset it

I am wondering why a TV problem would cause you to get that message, if it specifically says "searching for satellite signal" that sounds like a STB issue, and I would definitely start with a reset.
