No way they cut Evans, Colston and Lofton. Maybe Grubbs. But not Grubbs and Evans.

Financially it makes more since to cut Evans over Grubbs. I think a pay cut is the only thing that can save him. At this point I think Grubbs is also outplaying Evans(though that's not saying much).

If Colston plays hardball and doesn't take a pay cut it could get interesting.

I really don't see Lofton getting cut. Plays about every snap, makes all the calls, and is the de facto leader and we are extremely short on those on defense.

@euquol paycut =/= restructuring. Brees has every incentive to extend his contract though, which would lessen his cap hit.

As for Evans/Grubbs, Evans is gone. He's finished, done, etc...hes' getting manhandled and seriously him and goodwin are the reason why Brees gets pressured so much. 4/5 times a bad throw or sack is due to those two.

Cutting Grubbs this year is not worth it imo. He's only going to save 3.6mil while losing 6mil in dead money. It'd make more sense next year when its 3.0 dead and 7.3mil in savings. He's not as bad as Evans and I'm sure his play will improve with a better center and RG.

Cutting Evans and Grubbs means we need to sign one (Iupati) and draft one (Collins perhaps). I don't see both getting cut, but weirder things have happened.

We might just designate Grubbs to be a June 1 cut.
