I don't understand why it would not already be announced if he is going to Michigan? Wouldn't Harbaugh want to try to salvage the recruiting class, get some buzz etc? The 49ers are out, why hold on to him if he is going to college?

Doesn't make sense unless this is all manipulation from the Harbaugh camp. I think Harbaugh's camp is putting the screws to the 49ers with leaks, trying to goad them into responding in the most heavy handed way possible.

If I am Baalke I laugh about all of this, the 49ers have the leverage here. Why give leverage up until you have to? Why work on Michigan's schedule? Why give any professional courtesy to Harbaugh whatsoever?

The 49ers can hold onto him, deny all offers, park him until all other jobs are filled, pay him to sit and promote Roman to HC for a year.

If Harbaugh quits then they don't owe him shite.

He has to let this week play out, otherwise he looks like a Petrino style punk who quit on his team. I'm sure I am the naive Michigan fan here, but he doesn't need Michigan to get leverage. The NFL teams would cream themselves over him and engage in their own bidding war. As far as recruiting, isn't the dead period until mid-January and signing day in early February? That's a decent amount of time to shore up the class. Plus, they are sort of punting on recruiting for this year, anyway.

Probably the most reasonable post yet on both Hawbaw leaving San Francisco and him going to Michigan.
