How has your duck season been so far?
Glass?
Use binocs to look at unmolested ducks.....
If the ducks holding your area are in groups of 8 with each duck about 20 yards from each other......well don't put two dozen dekes a strings length away from each other
Also....know how different species of duck act when resting or feed....
I laugh my arse off when I see diver dekes bunched up - that means ONE thing.....
We dont like this and we about to roll...

Guys your two best friends as a water fowl hunter are binoculars
And a place at or near where you hunt where the ducks can always go and not be bothered
U can bet everyone having great success right now is because of the latter whether by design or accident
A key to keeping ducks is the rule of threes that goes with most birds
The first timentthey are bumped they move, the second time they move a little further , the third time they leave the area.
Quite honestly I am amazed nearly every day when I talk to duck hunter - and many pick my brain -
How little hunters understand about what ducks do all day and night and under various lunar, weather and pressure conditions.
I'll say it again one marsh lease I am aware of that has 25-30 blinds is having it's best year since the three duck days- whole lease banned mud motors and air boats
Just because ducks are sitting in an area w feed doesn't mean they are feeding
When it's warm and invertebrates are out...they eat that not veggies......remember thtat

quote:wouldn't those 8 attract more? If your theory holds true of other ducks joining, so wouldn't it matter on when you look? Before or after the ducks join em?
