However, his trial lawyer buddies would have been all over Sony and the theater owners if anything happened.

Not having it in theaters is not what's killing Sony. I think the real killer is COMPLETELY quashing the movie.

If they'd have said "for safety concerns, we'll pull it from theaters and release it straight to DVD/rental market", they probably cover some of their arse.

He can still offer the full protection of the US gov't and military to Sony if he'll put his money where his mouth is. fricking mf'er has never made a tough decision in his life until after the fact and nothing is his fault.
