To listen to? Sure. I f'n love the Minutemen. they are one of my all-time favorite bands, and I think the death of D Boon is one of the greatest tragedies to befall pop music. He was genius.
But Black Flag, at the time, was far more popular, and they were the band who really opened up the indie touring circuit by playing literally anywhere they could. They were the pioneers that made the rest of the indie scene possible.
But, yeah, outside of Damaged and Six Pack, I wouldn't really want to sit around and listen to their music. Flag's definitely a band that's easier to appreciate their influence without, ya know, listening their albums. Also, Greg Ginn is one of the biggest assholes in the history of music. He's such an a-hole, he makes Henry Rollins look like the reasonable one.

I nominate Greg Dulli.
Also, I think Spoon > MM, but Spoon is one of my favorite bands of all time.
