I also agree with Baloo.

I've never seen Spoon live so I can't comment. I've seen Modest Mouse several times and they put on a great show.

But albums? Come on. There's no argument that can be made that Spoon is better.

Except they put out a top ten album this year. Modest mouse has 3 good albums. Woohoo!

Not only did they produce an indie rock album three years before MM but they have gotten better with age. How many bands can say that? They pioneered a new genre of music that the pixies helped create and remain relevant today. Unlike MM, its hard to find a dud among their discography that continues to improve with each passing year.

I like Modest Mouse more too, but Spoon just released some good songs and Modest Mouse has been irrelevant for the past decade. There's certainly an argument. Their last album and tours have been shite and I have low expectations for the new stuff. Compare the song I posted from Spoon in this thread to King Rat. That's where there's no argument.
