Most of us only get bothered when a government spends our taxes (read: confiscated income) on such displays. You'll understand the sentiment if you've ever been pissed off by being indirectly forced to fund abortions via taxation.
There are a few loudmouth whiners who get immensely (and IMO hilariously) rustled by it, but they should be ignored, as any loudmouth whiner should be.

Its not the display, its the arrogant entitlement Christians feel they possess when it comes to their exclusive rights to put religious items on state property. only to become offended when another religion wants to take advantage of any laws allowing it.
The Satanist in Florida gave the invocation at a city board meeting because a new law invited religion into the board room...
The Christians on the board being the arrogant, self righteous hypocrits they are walked out of the room....why because the new law couldnt keep the satanist out and their presence there offended the 'truly' pious.
