But I agree regarding the Hobbit. All of the action with Gandalf occurs off-screen in the book. There is no characterization of individual dwarves in the book outside of Thorin. The movie was far more epic than the book.

I didn't mean to say the Narnia movies were bad, but they have a more kiddie feel to them than what PJ was going for. Like you said, they aren't epic in feel.
