I used to live on a very nice golf course. Sold the house about 4 years ago. Thank God. That house is now worth 1/3 less than what I sold it for. Golf is definitely dying.
As others have said, it's expensive. And the younger generation doesn't have the patience or attention span to spend a few hours hitting a small white ball around. It takes a lot of time and patience to get proficient.
