For adults, these kid-centric animated films rarely peak in their final act. The story formula accommodates that.
The character development process is the more creative part of the story for us. It is more fun in the beginning of these movies because you see a character's flaws and weakness, flaws that are usually unique and interesting (and often comparable to real life).
Since these types of films and such have to cater to children, as an adult you get less-interested towards the end of the movie because you know there's going to be happy ending. It's a sure thing.
