I don't think simply believing that homosexuality does not align with your belief system makes you a homophobe.
Smoking cigarettes doesn't align with my belief system, but I don't think that makes me a bad person.
I think what makes you a homophobe or what makes you a -ist of some sort is when you take actions or express beliefs that homosexuals should be treated differently (i.e. lesser) than heterosexuals.
Personally, I don't understand homosexuality. I don't understand how a man could derive pleasure from another man. But, if someone else does... good for them. I could care less. That's their life.
If they want to marry, fine, whatever. All marriage is, is a public expression of love.
All these comments that marriage is somehow something more than a public expression of love... well... the 50 percent divorce rate kind of gives the lie to that, doesn't it?
Marriage is to have children? What about people that can't/don't want to have children? What about people who divorce and then use the children as pawns to get back at their ex?
