I am not saying that you specifically or all posters who defend Miles have the same attitude. I described a particular mindset that some seem to have --
If that "mindset" is that neither Miles nor the LSU staff coach SEC football without making mistakes, but even with their mistakes their understanding of football dwarfs that of anyone posting in this thread...then, count me into that "mindset"...with all due respect to this thread and the posters expressing their opinion.
BTW, you post as if there is a problem with LSU fans defending the LSU coaching staff on an LSU forum. There isn't and we are not talking bout the GN or CH or MA staff but the staff of one of very best college programs around.
Being critical is not a problem, but being critical to the point that you think you know more/see a problem they don't see is more than a tad amusing.

nobody is stating the coaches don't see the problem....they just always seem to be slow to react in addressing the issue and fixing it...you know...plan B.

What I'm talking about is the general mindset that Miles can't be criticized on this board because no poster can possibly know something that Miles doesn't know, and that even when Miles is wrong, his decision is still superior, based solely on his position of authority. I feel like I've explained this already in detail.
I'm familiar with your posts, Lonnie. I have been since we discussed the spike/clock-it incident (2009 game vs. Ole Miss). Frankly, I find your posts dull. They're usually from the same angle -- a lot of praise for Miles and Geaux Tigers emoticons, which is fine. Personally, I prefer to read posts that are more analytical, or funny, or critical, or original, etc. I'm not going to go out of my way to put-down your posts (especially as automatically invalid based on fallacious appeals to authority -- if you do have an opinion, I will judge the substance of it). As you often say, "each to our own." But, people often put-down posters who have a critical opinion, in lieu of a substantive discussion/argument. As I've already explained in this thread, it usually devolves into a lot of automatic disqualifications (ad hominems), misrepresentations, appeals to authority, etc. Some of the Pumpers act as if an adverse opinion is invalid from the start. If there's no room for dissenting opinion, what is this board for? Adulation, basic information and emoticons? To me, part of the fun of talking about sports is arguing. I'm not talking about something nasty (fighting, personal attacks). I'm talking about a good healthy argument. If you don't like that, and you prefer constant flattery for your team, fine. Why even jump into threads like this? I mean, I understand that passion is a major part of sports, and a lot fans have a deluded sense of disrespect regarding their team, but I see your position on this as flatteringly dull and not respectful to people who have different opinions than you. How many people on this board do you know? Do you really think you can dismiss all of their opinions as invalid that easily? Sure, most coaches know a great deal more than the average message board poster, but that doesn't mean there can't be particular insights, and different perspectives of value.

No. That is your extremely biased interpretation. As I said, I like a good argument from time to time. The defenders are needed to have the argument. My issue is with the posters that try to cancel the argument before it gets started by attempting to render dissenting/critical opinion automatically invalid.
