Using the term platform is misleading. AR15 and AR10 are two different platforms in which certain parts are not interchangeable (upper receiver, lower receiver, bolt, mags, etc.)
If you are referring to manufacturers, if they are reputable, they should produce mil-spec parts and should be interchangeable within the same platform. I.E. I use BCM uppers on PSA lowers with no fitment issues.
