Bush did the same for R's in 2008. It's all cyclical and they are all the same self-interested liars.

Oh no Bush screwed the Repub's for a few years, after all they took back the house ASAP after the public began to realize what Mr. Obama was. Mr. Obama has led the Dem's out farther into the wilderness than even President Carter did in 76-79. It will take decades for the Democratic party to recover from this just as it did from Carter. The US is a conservative country at heart and while liberal policies sound good in speeches they have a bitter aftertaste in practice.
Now the fact that they are/where both self interested liars is a fact

This. A major party hasn't been destroyed since the Whigs before the Civil War. They're nearly indestructible. The Dems will be back, just like the GOP was.
