I would like to order some to give as Christmas gifts. Can anyone give me some insight as to who makes the best chocolate covered pecans? TIA!
Update pg. 2 in case anyone was interested - and thanks to Heypaul, his wife's chocolate covered pecans are an office hit!

Do you think the amaretto flavor is generally appealing to most people's tastes? I was thinking just chocolate because, hey, who doesn't love chocolate? But I'm concerned some won't like the amaretto. Is it overpowering or just more of a hint?

it is more of a hint than a flavor. I really like them.
having said that, who would complain about a gift of chocolate covered pecans?

John B. Sanfilippo and son
These are interesting people. I am suspicious they make chocolate covered pecans. Their plant in Elk Grove Village Illinois (around the corner from a company I once worked for) has one of the nicest factory stores I have ever visited.
It looks like they have stopped selling their many products through the mail. They one did, but I see no links for ordering through the mail now.

Is this difficult to do at home?
I usually make cinnamon sugar pecans for Christmas, but now I am thinking about trying this out.

I thought about doing it myself, but I just don't have time to try it this year. I usually make candied pecans every year too, but wanted to go with something different this year.

If you're interested in some custom tins, let me know.

A drug rep dropped off a tin of chocolate covered pecans at my wife's office.
Some fat girl stole the whole tin, and I was supposed to get in on some of those.

Find an online wholesaler (there are plenty) and you can get 25 lbs for $200 and either bag them or package them in tins for everyone you know.

Bergerons makes a good chocolate pecan.

Never had better than Pointe Coupee.

I'm trying to let the OP know that my wife can do it.
Her aunt has the second largest pecan farm in the state, and they are the same as Bergerons.
But she puts a custom touch on the different varieties such as white mint chocolate, regular chocolate and Cajun dusted!

heypaul, does your wife have a site I can look at? If not, can you give me an idea of what the price would be? I don't need a ton, just want to get something for my co-workers. I think I've been looking at one lb. bags (or tins) for about 10 people.
