Steve Kerr could turn in to the next Phil Jackson. meaning taking an established team to the next level.

Here's Joe Lacob on Kerr
Lots of posters (42 and ATL in particular) have brought this very thing up with regards to Monty.
Who knows if Benson has opened up the wallet in that way (it would seem odd that he wouldn't given how much he spends on Saints staff and how the Pelicans seem to be trying to win more now). But Monty has career assistants that all seem to think the same way he does. That's inherently a problem and even more so when you have young and weird fitting players.

"Right now, (Kerr) looks great," Lacob said at the Western Association of Venture Capitalists/National Venture Capital Association luncheon Wednesday. "I think he will be great. And he did the one big thing that I wanted more than anything else from Mark Jackson he just wouldn't do, in all honesty, which is hire the very best.
"Carte blanche. Take my wallet. Do whatever it is to get the best assistants there are in the world. Period. End of story. Don't want to hear it. And (Jackson's) answer . . . was, 'Well, I have the best staff.' No you don't. And so with Steve, very, very different."
