Check out Old San Juan.. it's a very nice historic town. A much cleaner New Orleans in terms of architecture.

I stayed right down the road from El Yunque (which you have to check out). A beautiful rainforest trail that will last you a long time, but make sure you drive up high enough so you can get to the waterfall. Definitely jump in and swim for the experience.
