To give you a serious answer, just sell the gold/elite badges. The amount you need to do anything worthwhile is just absolutely insane. I don't know how much the market has changed for the elite badges but when I got them I could "buy it now" for $40K and get a buyer every time almost immediately. If you're team is lacking, 40K is a very good chunk of change that will fill more than a few spots.

Use the bronze/silver badges to unlock all of the regular season things so you can get the gold coaches and in turn, trade those in for an elite coach.
