Garmin has an online free site called garmin connect that will track and keep all your workouts. Very easy to use and nice to see weekly mileage totals, etc.
Recently upgraded from the forerunner 405 to the 220. 220 is nice because can sync to garmin connect app via Bluetooth. The 220 does not have swipe screen technology but buttons are very easy to use.
A very good site that reviews running/swimming gps devices is dc rainmaker.com
Good luck.

I like it, but I actually prefer Strava to keep a a log
Garmin Connect has alot more flexibility to be able to breakdown a run or race, but that sort of info is invaluable to someone to is critiquing their training sessions and races.
I did a Half Ironman a couple weeks ago and without garmin, I could never go back and look at data like this
