Depends on the hire. I think his recruiting is good but overrated. I am not one that thinks LSU just recruits itself, but when you are given the money and resources for your assistant coaches that Miles' has been given, you'd better damn well recruit top notch. Miles gets outworked by several other SEC coaches on the recruiting trail, and this isn't something new.

This is going to depend on the hire, but is definitely mostly on the offensive side of the ball.

People whining about Muschamp's failure at UF is exactly why LSU shouldn't hire a person that's never had head coaching experience at the collegiate level. It's a crapshoot at that point as to whether that person can even be a head coach much less a top one.

UF got screwed by Meyer in timing and then hired Muschamp over Strong. That was their mistake.

Who is outrecruiting LSU consistently?

ETA: Other than the future HOF coach at Bama that has a recruiting budget that is a multiple of LSU's.
