My fear is that for many years a large portion of LSU fans have had their minds made about about replacing Miles, but have not really come to terms with the very real possibility of having to live with the consequences of a bad hire.

I have, but have you come to terms with the possibility that LSU might make a great hire? People always say, we will make a bad hire, why? It's just as plausible that LSU will make a great hire. Just sayin.

Why would Jimbo leave FSU when he can dominate the ACC and practically cakewalk into the playoff every year?

History says otherwise. There are simply far more examples of programs going from good/great to bad with a poor hire than programs going from good/great to equal or better success. Ironically, LSU was one of those rare cases last time going from Saban's record here to Miles'.

Again...that's not to say it CAN'T be done, just that the odds are not in our favor getting it right with the first next hire. Not the sole reason not to do it, but it ought to be taken into account.
