I have seen some trashy things on the OT, but bragging about your ability to install and float sheetrock might be one of the trashiest hahaha

It is the one thing I didn't mind spending money on when we redid our bathroom. The plumbing and electrical I had to spend money on because I don't want problems with water or electricity. But all of the teardown, framing, and other stuff I did myself. I didn't want all that hard work to look like shite because I got cheap with the walls.

DIY wallboard skills are much in demand after a hurricane. I know how to use a chainsaw, too. Does that also make me "trashy"?

It's a good skill to know and I did it while being a full time college student, so please continue to stereotype.

I think you'd be surprised at the income that some independent contractors, such as drywall guys make. A lot of the forty thousand dollar millionaire types on here are all about the nouveau riche snobbery towards people that work for a living. I know a guy that grossed $385k last year installing and repairing overhead doors, and he looks like the sterotypical Joe Sixpack, laughing his way to the bank.
