I thought about posting an explanation here, but what would be the point? I'd just be paraphrasing something explained quite clearly in the IPCC in my own words and with no citation (or a direct citation to the papers used in the IPCC) to avoid the automatic "HURRR IPCC" response. And between you, Tuba, and NC, there's maybe one person who could, with honest effort, understand the science.

(Sorry, Tuba, it's not you. frick along, now.)

U so smart iosh.

I have no idea why you hate me though. Best I can figure is before my reinstatement you were the only nondenialist in a sea of denialism and now you can't stand the competition.

No offense but your presumption that only select few are capable of understanding science is the functional equivalent of the Catholic Church's old tradition of saying since only the priest knows Latin, the illiterate parishoners should place their faith in whatever he says.

I do understand what you were getting at. And you've certainly got a valid point. But it wasn't the point I was impeaching.

It was aimed at climate "scientists" thorough abuse of the time domain.

Sometimes weather anomalies are proof of AGW. Other times they "are just one days weather".

The 40s bump is negligible, but the 70-90 time period proves AGW.

Sometimes they claim oceans aren't a buffer because they take centuries to heat... While one of the most common excuses for unbalanced heat forecasts over the last two decades has been that the oceans have relocated the heat to undetectable locations in the "deep" ocean.

As for where (I reckon) you were going... I would be interested to know about what proxies exist for pr-historic subsurface sea temperatures, and their reliability, that contradicts the obvious. Barring that, I'm sticking with the 2nd law of thermodynamics.

But that's just me.
