I think that rivalry is stronger IMO.

we will have to agree to disagree.

And most people outside of the Big 10 haven't give a shite about Ohio St. and Michigan game for 20 years outside of a couple years they were both competitive.

people in other parts of the country don't care about the iron bowl unless there are national title implications.

thats fine.

Its just that the Iron Bowl isn't just about football. All of these people live in the same state. In the same cities. They go to the same churches and send their kids to the same schools before college.

Their lives are just so much more intertwined 365 days of the year that it really leads to some legitimate animosity towards one another. They don't just hate each other during football season. They hate each other in the communion line at church.

So.....so you're saying they really fricking care?

This thread pops up every year. Why does it matter which game is more popular? It's all opinion, so everyone is happy watching whatever game/games they want.

Folks up north naturally don't care about southern teams and rivalries as much...who cares? If they don't want to see an Iron Bowl with the winner possibly propelled to the NC then so be it.

Southerners don't care about Big10 football because it's downright pathetic. But who cares? Everyone's rivalry is special
