I agree. That's why it's on the municipality to make sensible rules (easy and quick adjustment: only base salary counts in the computation) and the chain of command to enforce them.

Money isn't infinite.

Most retirement is calculated by base pay only,not including overtime. So BRPD's retirement is calculated by base pay plus overtime?
