I'm assuming you have a late 90's/early 2000's F-250. The new gassers with max tow packages are capable of towing the same that 7.3 equipped trucks can tow.

yep. and yep re: tow.
not so much re: payload.
i have mine 350-ized (it was almost the same truck back then--stock rear springs slightly better on 350) with some other hauling mods, so its payload is close to 4000lbs (I'm sure Ford would tell me not to go that high, but i've driven cross-country with more and felt totally comfortable).
