Ii believe rich white democrats had the biggest hand in it. Me and my brothers rode the School bus with about 30 black kids , everyone of the kids had a mother and father. We lived out in the country and these families were poor country folks. But they had strong family bonds. This was the late 60's when we started school.
And it will get worse as long as they blindly vote Democrat for a few crumbs thrown their way.
Hell they should be pissed that Obama just added Millions of Hispanics who will now take a lot of Black people's jobs. But they will continue to vote for the people who are destroying them.

As long as some people embrace a "community" mentality and buy into the group think, they'll never break free of the chains that hold them down. If you believe your salvation has to come from external forces, you're already doomed. I honestly think many of these folks believe they are a ward of the state and this is perpetuated by those who profit from that belief, politically. I feel for black folks who see themselves as "Americans" and not "African-Americans" and get chastised for breaking free from the group.

It's a closed feedback loop.
You have "hip hop" culture, an enabling Federal government, an overall decay in the family in general in the US, a school system which has tried to take the place of the family and further enabled its demise and the Sexual Revolution.

"Zach, first you have to take out the black males who are uneducated or commit crimes or went to prison. Then take out the black males on drugs. Then take out the black males who are unemployed. By the time you get down to the rest who are marriage possibilities they are in HUGE demand (free market). They can pick and choose. They marry white women or very light skinned blacks. I'm dark skinned and will not settle."
Mary is now 66. She had a point. When I look at ads of young black couples the woman is always light skinned compared to the man. Dark skinned black women with a high IQ are in a world of hurt in the free market of marriage.
There is some truth to this.
Black women need branch out, IMO.
