Yes. What does that no gun policy prevent, besides me protecting myself when I happen to be in there during a robbery?

I worked in banking for a while, and the fact is most robberies occur without incident. I'm sure banks want to keep it that way.

If you allow people to carry guns inside a bank, and if a robbery goes down, the robbers will be more than likely to take a hostage with them to ensure escape, AND statistics show that once you leave a bank as a hostage, you're probably not going to live.
