I think the real fear is that Jennings will keep the job next year as well, even though he shows no progress this year.
We all know Jennings will be the first QB to walk out there next season

The gameplan with Harris will not be the same gameplan. -mett 2013 -Putting Harris in to hand off the ball 50times won't prepare him for what we will run with him when he and the team are ready
Maybe, maybe not. Harris needs to be in there. You really have no arguement why he's not being allowed to play. Even if it's just for a few series. There has to be something this kid can do. Design a package for him and put him in the game.

Less and less likely IMO

Read the thread. I've given u my arguments, as have others. if you want to discount them, that's fine.
But Putting him in for a few plays in the context of the arguments I laid out doesnt make any sense IMO. When he plays, it will be a big and meaningful contribution. Overwhelmingly so...and not for just a few plays.
hell, there is a good chance Jennings may be being sacrificed given the state of the season. (And NO, I'm not saying it would have been different w Harris...I'm saying that the season is gone now, don't risk it if it's not ready). If he is, go with him full tilt.

Question: whose confidence would you rather shatter now-aJs or Harris's?
They'll have months to get over it. Right now, we need to win games, and Harris is the best guy for the job. The reason why I say that, is even though he will make mental errors, he has the ability to shake back from those.
You don't think sending Jennings out there every week to fail miserably is fricking with his confidence? You dont think letting Harris watch from the sideline knowing that even though Jennings is playing like complete garbage, he still won't see the field, is messing with his confidence?
IMO, they'll both be fine confidence wise even if they are switched out.

JFF, Jameis, and McCarron didn't get ANY snaps the year prior. 2 of these guys won the Heisman their first year starting, and the other won multiple national championships. If the guy can play, he can play. He doesn't need 5-10 plays a game to be better prepared for the next season...
He'll look at JT Barrett. Was third string until Miller's injury two weeks before the season started. He beat out Cardele and had first string reps for all of a week or two. Took him a couple of weeks of growing pains. but he has been on fire ever since. He has beaten all the freshman records for Ohio State QBs minus the passing stat which he will beat. Actually, he might have already beaten it. He's also beaten Miller's single season TD record. The guy still has at the very least. 3 more games. At the most, 6.
Saying all of that, I still just want to see Harris start the bowl game.

I think Harris knows he's gonna see the field and would rather take it when he feels ready and when the rest of the team is able to optimize his skill set. He knows that the playbook today which is set up for Jennings (while he learns) is not well suited for showing off his talents. Why not let Jennings implode and ride in as white knight when the rest works to his advantage?
If the team is not ready to make him successful, then let jennings be the sacrificial lamb. Harris is your future...and the future is not TAM or Memphis!!!

if anyone thinks a junior QB is going to be "beaten" out by someone who has only started one game in practice, they are a moron.

Good point. That practically ruined John Football and Jameis.

Sorry, but this type of offense doesn't lend itself to a quarterback being awesome.

They could've had him ready this year had they developed a system to help him succeed. Like 4 wides and 5 wides, find the open guy, if it isn't there take off and use your speed.
if it were only that simple. you sir, don't know shite about football.

This is a joke. With some physical development from a college weight program/training table, this kid has NFL level tools. He would be a fool to hold a clipboard while watching JJ II for two more years.

I think I called you a dolt last night (sorry about that), but I'm with you. Evidently Thursday at 4 PM is how long it takes to get over a 0-17 loss to a team that was 0 for it's last 17 games in the SEC. Im done fighting with LSU fans that want the Tigers to win as much as I do. We have one more SEC game and a bowl game before we are stuck waiting for Sept. 5, 2015.
