Fact is you don't make the business money. You (IT) cost them money, but don't make it. Its like comparing most other sports to football. Yeah, there is your place and you get funded, but you aren't making the money so they get the new uniforms and state of the art facility. You get the old one. Its just the way it is.

I don't think he said we "make" them money directly. I'd like to see my company make a dime with the IT departments there to set up, maintain and monitor EVERYTHING EVERY DAY.

No. It's really not like this at all

Football can survive without those other sports. A company isn't doing a damn thing without the IT folks making sure everything works

It's funny when the guy with 4 degrees and making $4mil a year has to ask me how to set up set up a rule on his inbox

It's a service required for doing business. They don't make any money without IT.

People who view IT as a cost or burden suffer.
