The problem with only 20 taps down here is you still need to have BMC BS on tap.

Which version of Bourbon County is this, again? I have a hard time keeping the acronyms straight.

I'm with Jones about no covers. I almost categorically refuse to go places where I'd have to pay a cover. And I don't think I'm in the minority.

I don't really see how the 20 rotating taps model would work at this location like people are advocating. They would have to have somebody running the place to who is competent enough to continuously curate the tap list. It can definitely be done with our distro in Louisiana (see recent list posted from Courtyard in Nola), but it requires someone who really knows what the hell they are doing. If the Bulldog can manage to not have a single IPA available at a certain point in time with 80 taps, then shite like that can all too easily happen with 20 taps.

The number of taps probably needs to be large enough to distinguish it as a beer destination among the general population and that isn't going to happen with 20 taps. At that location, it can't survive from the maven population alone. Is 95 taps too many? Probably so, but I don't think it seals their doom by any means. People talk about stuff not being fresh, but the general population isn't really keen on this stuff like most of the people posting in this thread are. And it is not critical for all styles.

Also, people keep bringing up how little action downtown BR has on certain nights, etc as a reason for failure, but that hasn't stopped other bars from being successful. I'm assuming Huey's is doing well if these guys are trying to open another bar right across the street.
