I hope your keyboard survived that amount of angry typing.
Ive been hearing about the massive influx of people and businesses downtown for years. Still waiting....
Where are all of these people going to be living? Apartments in and around 3rd street are pretty pricey. Some of the buildings you would need to be making over 100k to be able to afford the costs of rent.
Unless they are building a lot more living spaces, the amount of people that can live around that area arent going to keep a bar going by themselves. And I mean affordable living spaces.

But there will be a MAJOR influx of people in the next 2 years working, and more importantly LIVING DT

It is coming when Canes moves downtown, when the Shaw Center opens, when Lafayette Park is finished, when City Plaza is built, when.....
IBM is the savior now. Did Bernhard abandon his plans now that he is reopening Shaw?

Its called construction....You have heard about plans for years....and that is nothing but smoke and mirrors. These places are under construction. They will be built. Most of them will are to open mid to late 2015.
You are correct as far as pricey. But if your one of the 500 to a 1,000 people coming to work IBM, you most likely can afford it. Although some jobs there will be low level. Also, more and more people are going DT. I mean, think back even just 5 years ago. Nobody really talked about DT. It will only attract more people.
And yes I was angry typing. But I just could not believe I went 2 pages without one person thinking about the development aspect of it. Sorry, I thought more highly of tigerdroppings posters:)
