What we all want

There are all type of arguments for and against LM. Comparisons to the 80's 90's Curly, Jerry D. and so on. The point of the concern has nothing to do that LM has won "X" amount of games or that "we are just spoiled and have no perspective because " we should'a remember the Curly days" Frick all that.
The point is LSU SHOULD be doing what Alabama is doing. And it's not some hurt feelings syndrome to admit it. We SHOULD be their only equal. We WERE doing what they are doing now, or on the track to do it. Realistically there are 2 programs that can be at the year in year out run at the NC level in the SEC. That's LSU and Alabama. We shouldn't dance around it. There is no excuse, no rational, no getting around the fact that LSU should be in the hunt for the NC every freaking year. That's not "unrealistic expectations" Instead, under LM, we are losing 3 games just about every season. Now we are going on a possible 5-6 while Alabama is back at it. He'll suck everyone back in with a decent run, but it will all come back to this crap eventually.
Replace LM with a better coach, and there are SEVERAL out there, and we'll be right back where we are supposed to be. Neck and Neck with Alabama. He's a mediocre coach at best, and it will be more of the same as long as he's here. A frustrating, gut wrenching, cycle of wishing for better.
We all should want better.

Man I'm not even begging for that. I just want to see an offense that doesn't look worse than some shite you see on Friday night lights, an offense from the 2000s, not even 2014. Just get it out the fricking 70s.

What we all want is to use our 5 star recruits and utilize them the way they should be. Take Nick Chubb for example. Georgia doesn't have a great QB but they stretch the field wide and it allows Chubb to be successful. Chubb isn't better than Fournette overall but when you have 6-7 players in the box vs 9 players, it makes a HUGE difference.
Miles is so complacent it's pathetic.

Alleva: Les where are you going?
Les Rambeaux: I don't know.
Alleva: You'll get a another contract extension for this.
[Les Rambeaux nibbles some grass, looks over at the Coordinators and Position Coaches]
Les Rambeaux: You should give it to them. They have a want for it more.
Alleva: You don't belong here with no points or yards, why don't you back up and start over?
Les Rambeaux: Back to what? Bo's offense died here, and a piece of me did too.
Alleva: The game, the whole season may have been wrong, but damn it, don't hate your fanbase for it.
Les Rambeaux: Hate? I'll do it again vs. A&M.
Alleva: Then what is it you want?
Les Rambeaux: I want, what they want, and every other guy who came over here and spilled his guts and gave everything he had, wants! For our fanbase to love us and our shitty offense and goose eggs as much as we love it! That's what I want!
Alleva: How will you live, Les?
Les Rambeaux: Down by down. Run, run, pass, punt...burnin' timeouts along the way.

My point is that we shouldn't be surprised that any of this is happening. The crappy offense, underachieving, any of it. Yeah his record is good, but LSU's should be better year in year out. It's hard to get most to understand when they look at his overall record, but having a 9-3, 8-4, 7-5 season is unacceptable. 10-2 is bearable. We should apologize for wanting 11-1 or better every year because it is realistic.

I want to see a young offense make progress. Interceptions happen. Fumbles happen and penalties and dropped passes happen. But at a college football program like LSU, we should see a few bright moments in between the mistakes. We don't see that. We see mistakes, and lack of mistakes, but we don't see good things.

I want a better fan base.

Yes. Yes. Yes.
Considering the level of talent and the caliber of athletes LSU has every season, we should compete with any team in the nation every year. The ONLY difference between LSU and say FSU or Alabama is the development of players and an innovative offensive game plan. Our defense is arguably as good as any every year provided they don't all leave for the NFL. We have great running backs, great speed, good special teams, great fans and one of the best stadiums and fans for home games ever.
There is only one reason for LSU not being able to reload, improve as the season progresses and compete with any other team - Les Miles.
Les, if you don't have the ability to develop an offensive game plan that will actually win games, then at least have the intelligence to hire a coordinator that can and let them do their job without getting in the way. Yeah, you may not be calling the plays if you do that, but at the least you'd be given credit for hiring the right person and winning more games. You might even find your team playing for more championships that way.

You sound like an idiot.

The OP is simply wrong. If you don't believe that UGA, UF, and TAM don't have the resources and recruiting base to compete with Bama and LSU, you are not very intelligent. Hell, I didn't even mention Auburn, USCe, and Tennessee.
Then you have Mizzou, Hogs, the landmass schools, that are improving and even UK and Vandy when they have a good coach that can cause problems.
Hell all but the last two can be serious threats depending on the year.

LSU has a better recruiting base than all of those. Alabama dominates recruiting in that state, which hurts Auburn. Tenn recruiting base...please. MS only has 2 million people, and it's split by MSU, OM. I live in Jackson, there's talent in MS, but not LA talent. UF has it but it's split among FSU, Miami, and then other schools raiding. LSU recruits just as well in Texas as TAM does.
There are no excuses. NONE.

With the money being poured into this conference, you're going to see better coaches and more intense recruiting efforts from everybody not named Vandy. And this will lead to more parity in the division and conference. The days of 1 or 2 teams just ruling are over for the short term. So to just assume that LSU and Bama should be 1-2 every year and everybody else is playing for scraps is a very short-sighted and ill-informed opinion.
Having said that, there's no reason not to expect LSU to play UP TO ITS POTENTIAL every year. If you go 10-2 because Bama and Florida just had better teams that year, so be it. Or a year like this where MSU is having a once in a decade team and Ole Miss is way better than you think. But to just drift aimlessly and be mediocre is never acceptable.

OP seems pretty absurd.
