I thought he would be a great NFL Linebacker….

Buffalo, Indy, and now I see he is on the Dolphins roster (but not on the field tonight)

Why has he bounced around with so many teams?

Some teams are deep at certain positions is all I can think of.

Because he's not too good....

Bills traded him to the Colts for Jerry Hughes. Sheppard got cut in the preseason, Jerry Hughes has been great.

And he was signed to the Dolphins during the season because they had a season ending injury to their starting LB. He was on waivers for a little while after the Colts cut him.

Every year there are dozens of good to great college fb players that dont make it in the nfl. What sets the nfl apart from cfb is the athleticism.

Interesting thing is that his running mate Perry Riley has turned into a solid NFL LB, but never seemed all that spectacular at LSU.

Sheppard is not especially fast and not incredibly strong. He was great at LSU though
