I think that's the part of this entire serious [SIC] that creeps me out the most. If Adnan (assuming he's not guilty) could remember 21 minutes of his life. He could be free. That would eat me up for the rest of my life.

The things that stick out to me in this case are:

A person was found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison on circumstantial evidence where the jury did not deliberate for very long. That's scary for it to be so easy.

No physical evidence used in trial? Hard to believe the girl wouldn't have skin under her fingernails from a struggle or that two teenage potheads were that meticulous in covering their tracks. That would be a tough pill to swallow.

Where were the shovels at trial? Jay made a big deal about going back to wipe them down, but no mention of them later. I guess maybe they were in a landfill somewhere by the time the ball got rolling on the investigation.

I'm sure any wounds Adnan might have had (if he were guilty) would have been healed six weeks later when they finally got to him, so I can understand no mention of that. But I'm sure someone would remember seeing them at some point if he had them...though it was winter in the Northeast.

Prime witness in the trial basically let off scot-free when obviously involved someway with a murder by pleading to a lesser charge. Crazy.

Also, very little interest in the changing stories. Granted the "core" of the story

Prime witness created, himself, a corroborating witness in the Jenn girl.

Then they went to "Cathy's" house, a person Jay knew, to create an alibi for one or both of them.

After reading those letters from the Asia girl, something just seems off about her offer to help, to me. Almost like she was offering to do it for attention, but the fact that no attorney talked to her seems stupid.

Is/was letting an "acquaintance" whom you know to be a "criminal element" have your car and phone for an entire day a normal occurrence in certain cities?

Why would Adnan make it a point to give Hae his number by calling her three times the night before if he had been plotting to kill her?

After demonstrating that it was important for her to have his number, why would Adnan not attempt to contact her in the days following her disappearance as they were supposedly staying friends unless he knew she was dead?

Clearly Jay was involved, but who else?. On the fence about Adnan, but could easily see him being guilty. I doubt I would be able to convict someone on the evidence we have so far been presented with.

Not sorry for the lengthy post.

I just hope everyone is prepared for there not to be a neat and tidy conclusion. Unless some big piece of evidence is found and this case is going back to trial, SK can't just say "Jay did it and Stephanie helped him."

That becomes libel and they can sue the frick out of her.

It'll be wrapped up with some corny saying from SK about not being able to remember the past and Adnan will stay in jail.

Or did they not follow up on the library alibi because the original story was that Adnan killed Hae in the library parking lot? Maybe Adnan admitted to his attorney that he killed her near the library? She's dead now so Adnan can completely deny everything again.

This part is the most damning evidence against Adnan to me. If a girl you loved went missing, you would be trying to call them every hour of the day.
