quote::smh:quote:they are.
championships were out of reach
Once again, you misread and misquoted what I typed:
quote:Championships were not out of reach at that time. They are after the Bama game, but you don't have a point.
When LSU lost to Auburn, there were posters who said that the season was lost, championships were out of reach
LSU play's for victory even when some goals are out of reach. There are still goals to achieve: victory over Arkansas, victory over Texas A&M, a higher quality bowl, a ten-win season, etc. There are still things to play for. Victory is just one of many goals.
quote:If LSU is playing for next year and not for victory, then they are quitting on the goals they set for this year. All of the players would agree with me, particularly the seniors.quote:playing for something long term isnt quitting
LSU should play for "next year." The team and the coaching staff could have quit.[quote]playing for something long term isnt quitting
quote:I did not create the dichotomy. I'm just using the dichotomy created by most posters.
The two arent mutually exclusive. I know you thought you had come up with some amazing analogy in your head, but it's a logical fallacy, a false dichotomy.
Most posters agree that Jennings gives LSU a better chance to win NOW. Many posters want Harris to get experience in the next two games so that LSU will perform better NEXT YEAR. If you believe that Harris gives LSU a better chance to win NOW, you're entitled to your opinion. However, that's the subject of another thread, not this thread.
quote:Well, there you go again. misquoting me.quote:Actually, you have it backwards again, If you'rte getting ready for next week in running or whatever, you should be working even harder now to ensure that you have success then.
frick it, I won't run today because I didn't run yesterday; I'll pick it up again on Monday. Screw sales for the rest of this quarter because my numbers for this quarter are shot; I'll start working hard again next quarter. I'm going to lose weight next month because I’ve already eaten badly for this month. I'll work on grades next semester because it's too hard to bring up my grades this semester.
Again, you seem like a simpleton who doesnt understand that hard work and PROPER preparation now yields results later. Not day of in the moment work.
quote:I was giving specific examples of similar BAD messages. One should never quit in the current time period to focus on the following time period.
What the hell does playing for "next year" send as a message? That it's okay to fail for the rest of this time period because you've already lost your goals? frick it, I won't run today because I didn't run yesterday; I'll pick it up again on Monday. Screw sales for the rest of this quarter because my numbers for this quarter are shot; I'll start working hard again next quarter. I'm going to lose weight next month because I’ve already eaten badly for this month. I'll work on grades next semester because it's too hard to bring up my grades this semester.
quote:Yes, you can. But AGAIN, I did not create the dichotomy. I am merely repeating the thoughts of most of the posters. And you either deliberately missed the entire point of the OP or you're too stupid to understand.
You can win and get ready for next year. Your post is an abject failure.

Once again, you can play for both. Repeating the false dichotomy doesnt make it true....no matter how badly you want to make it true to make your absurd argument.

I dont remember the posters claiming that by playing Harris we would lose. I think you have reading comprehension issues. Claiming that playing Harris would result in a loss is pretty short sided and a pretty pathetic statement by you to a current member of the team. I realize you want AJ to play, but bashing another player is wrong.

Most posters agree that Jennings gives LSU a better chance to win NOW.
No they dont. The Miles pumper brigade and mouthbreathers like you think so....and believe it or not, yall are the minority of posters on this site.

Quitting involves doing nothing. Are you actually suggesting that if the team plays Harris that they would forfeit all remaining games?
Like i said, your OP, and now this absurd diatribe of a response is an abject failure. You can't even cogently articulate an argument without using false dichotomies, strawmen, and then bashing another player (albeit subtly).
You're the worst kind of fan, and Ive seen your type before. JustMe used to be the same way for JJ. He gone now. Tiger fans are still here....save us all the time and just leave now.

Okay mouthbreather. Tell me where ANY POSTER said that playing Harris results in automatic losses.
