I use Windows Defender, which isn't a resource hog. Plus I back up all my data every day. The online backup company I use backs up every version of every file, so if a data file gets compromised I can just get an older one.

I can do a clean reinstall of everything in just over an hour, that takes less time than trying to disinfect a machine.
