Does anybody remember the NMST game? Harris was unbelievably good. Yes, it was NMST, but Harris looked better in that game than Jennings has looked in ANY game. Harris was overwhelmed at Auburn, but the potential he showed in the NMST game has makes it clear that he has more upside than Jennings. Harris just needs more playing time.

I admit it. I was fooled into thinking Jennings would progress with more snaps. While the RB screen looks like our best pass play, he has done diddly squat in any other area. I know Quinn drops a lot of passes, I know our WRs don't get open a lot, and i know that he is mostly limited to sideline passes, but geez man, you aren't told to do much, and you can't even execute that? Even without dropped passes, he would never reach 60% against decent competition with the way he plays. That's not to say he will never, but he hasn't yet.

Under 50% passing for the year, one game over 54% passing. Minus the Auburn game where he only played like a quarter or so, he has averaged only 121 passing ypg in conference play, on 20.6 attempts per game. That is a horrible 6.05 ypa average. Honestly, we look like Arkansas from last year, with a QB even worse than Brandon Allen (who was playing with a bad shoulder).

I'll use an example of true freshman Brad Kaaya, on how talent, can overcome experience, then with that experience, enhance that talent. Kaaya was an int machine early on, but his arm talent was amazing. His first four games, he had 10 TDs to 7 ints. Way too much of a gunslinger. Forced too many passes, too quick to not let a player get open, and locked on to receivers. They were 2-2 during that span (Duke Johnson wasn't himself as well). Since that time, they are 4-1, and he has 10 TDs and 2 ints. He's rocking 62% completion, 2087 yards on 9.0 ypa, and 20 pass TDs with a rushing TD.

With his weak defensive competition coming up, he should hit 3000 pass yards and nearly 30 passing TDs. He's a true freshman!

I've said all that to say, it's time to ease Harris into the rotation. They should compete on who will start in the bowl game as well. I at least hope Harris is good enough to hand the ball off 45 times. In hindsight, it would have probably been better to start him at UF even after the disaster at Auburn. Let him work through his troubles. We would probably be off much better now.
