Because every authority on deer management associated with QDMA to academia says that antler characteristics are the most reliable means to age deer under most circumstances?

Neither can be used to age deer successfully unless the deer has spots. Color means nothing and body mass is a reflection on diet not age.

The only way to age a deer is to look at the wearing of the teeth. Sure the physical appearance of the body is a general indicator but is not considered accurate.
