dont move to most of downtown between hollywood and the historical part as far as living... and ALL of the east side pretty much stay away from completely.. i wouldn't even consider the east side a real place. its literally the a-hole of america.

Yea the downtown area can be a little sketchy at times. But those houses across park, in the bar rouselle area are pretty nice.

It isn't bad but there isn't much in the way of activities outside of hunting and fishing. People are good for the most part. East side isn't great but if you've been in a metropolitan area it isn't that bad.

I never understood the hate the east side of houma gets here. Lived here all my life and never really ran into trouble makers. The neighborhood by the Oaklawn/annunziata church area is far from being a shite hole. I mean it's not like the rich neighborhoods on the west side but the east side being horrible is greatly exaggerated imo. As long as you stay away from East Street and the connecting areas to East Street like senator circle and what not then you're totally fine on the east side.
