Only 50 minutes late with that gem of a post. Remember the days when you were a relevant troll?

But it sound like your experience as different?

I had a BE undergrad but took some EVEG classes. All the water related questions I found were similar to classes at LSU. The rest of the exam topics I all learned on the job.

The hardest part about the exam is staying focussed for 8 hours honestly.

Most of the information is what you did in school so it will still be fresh in your mind. I would have taken it early if I could. I am taking it in April as well, which is the first time I could have taken it with the old rules so it doesnt matter to me anymore.

I have the testmasters from someone that recently took it and Lindenburg book and thats about all I am going to study. Trying to get in the right mindset to get started but its still sitting on my desk. Probably going to start it up in January.

I emailed LAPELS and they made it pretty clear that other states will not allow reciprocity after you get your PE due to the date of your exam.

When I asked for specific states that told them this they did not answer.

Is anyone considering taking the PE exam early?
Would like to, but I checked the exam dates...wanna say they're on Fridays.

I live in TX now but got my EIT in Louisiana and plan on moving back...really don't wanna burn a day of vacation to take an 8 hour test...

Could probably swing it, but I probably would get a hard time for it.

Might be a tough sell...
1. TX doesn't allow taking the test early (to my knowledge). Also sounds like reciprocity wouldn't apply after reading some responses on this board.

2. I would be pre-empting licensure in LA...wouldn't matter to my manager, as I would no longer be in his group when the PE took effect.

Wait so TX(for example) won't accept my PE (once I get it) bc I would have taken the test early?

I don't think that's correct. I think what they're trying to say is TX won't view you as a licensed engineer until the time requirements are met, just like LA.
